OUR STORY
My grandmother is the biggest inspiration on my ability to create custom pieces. When I was little I spent so much time with her as she was a fantastic seamstress. We would stop by fabric shops in little towns on our journeys to wherever we were going. She taught me the feel of the fabrics, the quality of the fabrics and the adversity of fabrics. However, I never learned to sew because I have learned through the years she was a perfectionist. As I would attempt to sew, she would say here just let me do it! Just as I find myself doing so many things myself. We would always shop small town department stores and as I would find something I liked I didn't always get it but I would get a trip to the fabric store instead shopping for patterns looking at assembly construction and learning what fit was best for me. I wasn't the perfect bodied kid but my grandma always made sure my clothes complimented my figure. I spent countless hours watching her sew, collecting fabrics from different places with intentions of knowing what she bought that piece for, and learning when things didn't go right how to fix them and not settle because one bauble could make for a lesser perfect fit or something that would draw attention and make it appear as poor qualities in a tailor's work. These are all the qualities I look for in acquiring the look of a quality craftsmanship. It's so hard to find seamstresses anymore and one with a professional finished look. I take pride in picking out unique combinations that fit all personalities and characters because that is what gives a person the confidence they carry with them. Confidence is what gets these cowboys and cowgirls to the pay window. These shirts enable for them to compete without feeling bound or confined to a fit that wasn't designed for them but all they could find. And they found it knowing there would be five others in arena because the styles are limited in both gender areas and customers don't have much to choose from. This is why we offer one of a kind Texas made shirts that you won't meet your shadow coming and going in or out of the arena. Our goal is to sell quality not quantity and love the fact people appreciate and respect the time that goes into them knowing they cannot be produced in a week. We have been asked why we don't go overseas. I like to oversee operations and individually check each piece and oversea production wouldn't allow for that nor would that keep our money in America and help out locals who have far exceeded talents. Some of my favorite pieces were ones designed for my daughters and were even more special because the fabrics were acquired through my granny's fabric stash. Everyone dreams big but I like to think if I put a smile on someone's face or gave someone the confidence just because they had a pretty and unique shirt and they were complimented over it then that is the biggest accomplishment ever and more successful than having the dollars to show for it. Everything is reasonably priced for the consumer and not to mention the fits last longer as they are made to grow into and with them. I love seeing and getting the arena and show ring pictures especially them saying this one is my favorite. I can't pick a favorite as they are all unique and are made for that someone special. Every new one is my favorite but I have to say my favorites were the ones I remember sitting in my granny's sewing room and digging through closets of fabric and her saying here this would work or put these together and clashing fabrics that made totally awesome pieces! Everyone has a story of why they do something and I get asked frequently why do I enjoy this? It's a piece of my childhood, a piece of my children, and it's something I feel good about at the end of the day and it is what keeps me going on a day to day basis!
